DeLaBaie Skincare are a startup cosmetics company that originated from the vine laden bordeaux reigon of France. They wanted an e-commerce website to enable them to sell their products to the online market place.
Their products were separated into four distinct categories: Women, Men, Children and Unisex. Each category was colour coded to match the product labels to reinforced their branding.

I commissioned Ben Lacey to design an e-commerce website for my skin care business after two disastrous failures. The Brief
DeLaBaie Skincare are an startup cosmetics company that originated from the vine laden bordeaux reigon of France. They needed an e-commerce website that would enable them to sell their skincare products to the online market place. They had limited success with another website agency and were referred to me by an existing client. They wanted a professionally designed website that effectively showcased their products and allowed visitors to easily navigate through the website and make their purchase without needing to create an account.
The Solution
After numerous meetings over Skype and weeks of research it was decided that Magento e-commerce would meet their immediate and future requirements. The website design was refactored serveral times before the final design was approved. Over the coming months I worked alongside Miriam to develop the website and add the necessary products and content.
Magento is a very powerful and resouce hungry e-commerce platform, and sadly the hosting package that was setup by the client was inadequate to host the e-commerce website. I assisted DeLaBaie Skincare by installing, configuring and securing a dedicated Linux server to host their magento e-commerce website. This involved configuring the DNS records for their domains, setting up self-hosted email accounts and installing a control panel to assist in maintaining the server.
