RSF Tennis is based in Risley (Near Reading). They asked me to update and redesign their website so that it would be more appealing to a younger audience. They wanted to be able to update their website and easily add match results to the matches section; I developed a bespoke content management system that would allow them to update content, match results and a gallery.
Website Development
I was asked to produced a 15 – 20 page website that could be updated by members of the committee. I decided that the best approach was to create a bespoke content management system, that was simple to use. The project involved several meetings with the committee, and occasional meetings with the committee to go over and discuss the design and their requirements. The meetings took place over several months due to the committee only being available one day a month. The project began in November 2009, where I produced some initial design concepts, which were modified until the committee were happy with the final design.
Bespoke content management system
The committee had very specific requirements that meant developing a customised content management system that the club could use to maintain their website. The content management system allows the committee to:
- Edit, delete and disable pages on the website
- Add, edit, delete and disable news and events
- Attach files to a news article, event or page
- Upload, edit and delete images in a Gallery
- Upload match results onto the matches page
- Add, Edit and delete matches throughout the year
